Pacer’s R&D team was involved in the development of a ground based laser range finding device with a high sensitivity over a long distance.
The company embarked on a project to develop a new laser range finding system which could be mounted to an existing piece of military equipment. The purpose of this product was to extend the capability of a laser targeting device by adding the possibility of utilising the laser pulse produced by the targeting device to measure the distance to the target.
Since the laser targeting device was ground-based and handheld, the additional receiver component was required to be lightweight and compact, within strict dimensional limits. The Pacer team addressed optics, electronics and mechanics as well as all environmental tests.
