The BAC151 video microscope adapter enables portable Raman microscopy, bringing microscopic Raman analysis out of the lab to wherever it’s needed. It can be used with B&WTek’s Precision Raman Probe holder and is compatible with the company’s complete line of laboratory and industrial Raman probes.  When coupled with B&WTek’s portable Raman spectrometers, this video microscope system provides the advantages of Raman microscopy at a fraction of the cost of most research instruments.

The system includes an integrated camera and LED illuminator to allow precision spot sampling. Focusing and positioning of the excitation laser beam is facilitated by the video camera, which provides imaged details of the sampling spots. The platform provides both coarse and fine adjustments in the XYZ directions, and adds a coaxial and off-axis white LED illuminator (interchangeable), enabling convenient alignment and viewing of the measurement field. The BAC151 accepts standard microscope objectives; with a 100x objective, a 20 μm spot size is achieved. The colour video camera offers ¼ inch colour CCD format with active pixel resolution of 786 x 494 and viewer display pixels of 750 x 480. Shutter speed is automatic from 1/60 – 1/100,000 second. A USB cable is included.
