Active Matrix OLED Displays
Active Matrix (AM)OLED technology provides bright, vibrant full colour displays and promises even better contrast, brightness, image clarity and viewing angle than standard OLED displays. Pacer has limited availability only of a range of mono and full colour AMOLEDs (see table below). Products range from 2" at 176x220 resolution up to 7.6" at 800x480, with touch screen options available on most models.
When available in production volumes, AMOLED technology will be a potential replacement for similar sized TFTs, especially in devices that require a low power display panel, as consumption is typically 30%-50% less than TFT LCDs.
AMOLED advantages:
- Supreme image quality with a high contrast ratio of 10000:1
- Ultra thin (to 1.3mm) and light (to 6g)
- Wide viewing angle of >170 degrees
- Low power consumption - no backlight, efficient operation with low heat dissipation
- Wide operating and storage temperature range
